Dr. Mikhail Blagosklonny has an M.D. in internal medicine as well as a PhD in experimental medicine and cardiology. He earned both of these degrees from the First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg which has been around for over 100 years and has become one of the leading medical colleges in the world. At Roswell Park Cancer Institute Dr. Blagosklonny he has done a lot of work in regards to cancer and aging. He is also editor-in-chief of a number of medical journals. The first one is “Aging” which is a monthly medical journal which discusses the molecular processes of aging as well as biological aging, including the social, psychological, cultural and cognitive repercussions. He has another journal called “Cell Cycle” which discusses cell biology and a third called “Oncotarget” which focuses on oncology.
Dr. Mikhail Blagosklonny has always had a passion for oncology and takes his work very seriously, which is shown in his work at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute as well as in his many publications. His studies have vastly improved our knowledge in regards to cancer, and his work has had a significant impact on the surrounding community. His hypotheses on TOR signaling playing a role in aging and cancer may very well be the answer we have been looking for to extend our lives. He theorizes that it is possible for a drug used in cancer to also be used in a way that will prevent or deter aging.
